Special Programs

In 2012, we are pleased to offer opportunities for special programs. These will generally take the form of customized trips for groups of at least 14. They will normally be planned in response to interest expressed by a group so both itinerary and fees will be worked out with the interested parties depending on the nature of the trip.

An example for 2012 could be a 12-day January trip to selected wildlife sites/parks or selected archaeological, or a tour of a specific area like the Rift Valley lake region.

Why not take your group on a trip which emphasizes the dry savanna environment? For example, in Samburu there are many species not found in more southerly regions and where amazing stories like the relationship that developed between the lioness and her prey, the oryx, actually took place.

An archaeological/historical trip could include some time at the National Museum combined with visits to well known prehistoric sites like Olorgesailie, Hyrax Hill and Kariandusi, as well as 12th to 14th Century sites like Mnarani, Jumba, and Gede. The Portuguese Fort Jesus site can round off the coastal sites and of course we can include more recent sites of general interest like the Karen Blixen home, which lies in a suburb of Nairobi.

A Rift Valley lake tour could include lakes like Magadi, Naivasha, Elementaita, Nakuru, Bogoria and Baringo, each of them known for their special qualities or diverse wildlife communities. Visit Crescent Island to walk with its wildlife inhabitants. See immense flamingo populations. Boil eggs in the steam pools of Bogoria. Boat past hippos.

Note that, in addition to January, we can organize trips at other times of the year so just let us know when your group is available. We can also extend our trips into western Kenya and even southern Uganda where chimpanzees roam and exciting river rafting is available.
