Infrastructure and Health & SafetyThe Study in Africa Program has many years of experience in East Africa. We rely on this experience and our in-country contacts to plan a safe and interesting itinerary for our participants. We plan all of our trips with great care and with safety and security foremost in mind. To provide a safe and rewarding safari to our participants, we own, operate and maintain all of the equipment for the field school including vehicles.
Our cargo truck carries our camp gear, gas-powered generators, supplies, and everything else to make your safari experience comfortable. Light vehicles such as our land rover provide for quick travel for supplies as well as administrative activities for the program. We have tents, beds, toilets and showers for your camping comfort. We also have large canvas tents, big enough to house large groups for eating meals, socializing and occasional slide shows. All camping equipment is set up by our staff at each site, making camping easy and fun.
While SCUBA diving on the coast, our participants can use our OCEANIC dive gear including regulators, BCD's, air tanks, and weight belts. We even maintain our own air compressor to fill the tanks. In the case of our "Bit of Luxury" packages, we use new dependable high quality Land Cruisers or other suitable vehicles with highly trained driver-guides. For those wanting to fly in to game viewing sites, whe also arrange for flights from Nairobi to sites including Masai Mara. Luxury tented camps are the highest quality and situated in the best wildlife viewing areas. We can also arrange for lodge stays near wildlife viewing areas.
